Agudio has been leader manufacturers of material handling ropeways for many years. In the most recent years the great development in people transportation has concentrated Agudio attention also on the passengers ropeways. Therefore Agudio is now adding to the material handling ropeway experience of many years all the additional experience derived from the challenging passenger transportation sector development of these last years. This has enabled Agudio also to modernize old existing ropeway, requiring a lot of manpower, making the completely automatic.

There are many different types of material handling ropeways, depending from the use of fixed or detachable grips and from the use or not of a separate rope used as track rope, separated from the hauling rope.

Another difference depends from the movement of the buckets, continuous or to and fro. The main used types are:

·	Fixed grip monocable continuous ropeways
·	Detachable grip monocable continuous ropeways
·	Detachable grip bicable ropeways
·	To and fro bicable ropeways

For the continuous type ropeway the capacity increases passing from fixed to detachable grip type, and from monocable to bicable arriving with the last system up to 600 t/h and more.
